Monastir stands at the southernmost point of the Gulf of Hammamet, 30km from Port el Kantaoui. The transfer time is only about 5-30 minutes from Monastir Airport.

The beaches in the area are idylic, with metres of white sand shelving gently into the sea. They are well looked after, with lifeguard patrols and watersports available.

There are some excellent restaurants in Monastir serving both traditional and international cuisine, many are situated around the marina. The nightlife is mainly hotel based but there are some cafes and bars.

For the sports minded, golf is available nearby and there are a number of tennis courts around the resort.
