Armacao de Pera is located on the Algarve about 45km west of Faro airport and 18km west of Albufeira. The transfer time being about 40 minutes.

The resort has one of the longest stretches of beach in Portugal. On the beach close to the eastern side of the town are a number of fish restaurants that pride themselves on their fresh fish. There are plenty of clubs and bars around the area, together with the hotel-based entertainment.

The old part of town still has narrow streets and quaint fishing cottages, with some historic buildings to visit. Nearby attractions include a waterpark, beach watersports and golf.
