Approximately 8km from the airport lies the village of Mastihari, where one can find some of the most beautiful beaches on Kos.

The actual village is 2km inland and has twenty or so restaurants and bars, half a dozen supermarkets and a handful of gift shops. It is worth visiting the Mastichari Wine Festival, where you should go if you love home made wine, local delicacies and Greek music.

Mastichari is also your gate to the neighbouring island of Kalymnos and Pserimos, since daily cruises are available from the port of the village.
