The resort of Sousse lies 130km south of Tunis and about 23km from Monastir airport. The transfer time is between 30 and 50 minutes.

Sousse is a historic town, with its walled medina, an 8th-century fortified monastery, and its 9th-century Great Mosque.

There are some good restaurants and cafes in Sousse, particularly those serving French-style cuisine. Most evening entertainment is hotel based apart from a few bars and a casino.

Sousse’s long, fine beach of pale sand shelves gently into the sea and watersports are available in summer, including windsurfing and parascending.
